on a mission

We had a wonderful, much needed thunderstorm this afternoon. Little eyes spotted something floating way off in the distance so she, Russ & Miller hopped in the boat to go see what it was! Eastin is now the proud new owner of a faded basketball :) The lake is so serene after a storm ~ there are no boats, no waves, it is absolutely pure bliss.

Miller, our adopted family member

We fostered Miller when he was 9 weeks old and immediately fell in love with him. We adopted him and here he is a year later. He has such a personality and has a great demeanor. He announces when the UPS or FedEx guy comesm he brings me his leash when he needs to go outside and most importantly...... HE LOVES EASTIN.
They are best friends. He lets her put make-up on him, play doctor (he lets her put an ace bandage around his leg). She spoon feeds him water and dresses him up.
These pictures were snapped one after the other, it is amazing at his facial expressions, they were changing as he watched a bird fly by.

the calm after the storm

After a hot and sticky humid day, a welcome afternoon "popcorn storm" came through and left behind this gorgeous sunset.

this is what you get....

When you send two 7-year olds outside to play.

A ski rope, a sled, life jackets and a big wheel, does that not sound like an accident waiting to happen??

give the girls credit for imagination!

Throwing rocks

Soooooo.. do you remember throwing rocks when you were little?? I grew up throwing rocks into Lake Hartwell and here I am years later watching Eastin throw rocks just like I did. One of lifes little pleasures :) click to view it bigger

Ahhhhhhhh... after spending all day on the lake, there is nothing more relaxing than watching the sun going down below the horizon.
